As an open source learning platform, Ilias is widely available, widely used and incredibly versatile. Not least because of this, there is a strong community around Ilias that meets annually to exchange news, expand one’s own horizons and circle of acquaintances and find out about possibilities and scenarios in the world of e-learning.
With our shared enthusiasm for this tool, nexxacon and axtesys have succeeded in bringing this event to Graz in 2024. The small metropolis on the northern edge of the Mediterranean part of Europe has two highlights for participants: The conference takes place in the FRONTEND event location in the beautiful axtesys headquarters. This city palace is a simple, baroque building from 1589 with a view of the cathedral and mausoleum. People ‘chill’ and ‘network’ in the evenings on the Schlossberg, a green and beautiful hill in the center of the city. Formerly a fortress, now a local recreation area and viewing area for visitors and of course the population.

Program
Parallel sessions are offered in several rooms, lectures and interactive units as well as training courses can be found. Highlights are the keynote by Frank Karlitschek, the founder of Nextcloud, and the lecture by Jesús Conado Meiias with the almost pangalactic title “Don’t Panic: The ILIAS Hitchhiker’s Guide to Artificial Intelligence”. Many universities will share their experiences with e-learning, including TU Graz, via interfaces between different e-learning systems.
